Review: The Life of Anna, Part 1: Enslaved

Title: The Life of Anna, Part 1: Enslaved
Author: Marissa Honeycutt
Genre: Dark Paranormal Erotic Romance
Publication Date: September 6, 2014

Anna's entire life was scripted out before she was born by Devin Andersen, a man who doesn't have her best interests in mind. She is destined to be a tool in the hands to gain ultimate power in the USA. No, not as the President, but as the man who controls the President.

Raised by an extremely abusive guardian, Anna was molded into the perfect sex slave for Devin's use. Devin will use Anna's unique gifts to control everyone around him and eventually take her gifts for himself.

When Devin took her for himself at the age of sixteen, she had a vision of a man. A man who Devin was very interested in. But why? Why would Devin care about a young girl's dreams?

The Life of Anna, Part 1: Enslaved by Marissa Honeycutt

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was given this book for review and must say, what an amazing read! I mean from the first chapter it captivated me and kept me spell bound watching Anna's life unfold. From dark to darker, her world ripped and torn at every turn, only to bring you to the brink where you gasp for your next breath from being so on edge.

This book is wickedly delightful and down right disturbing. This world is not one I would like to imagine to be real, but the fascination of feeling like a voyeur almost, makes this book impossible to put down. I started this book and finished it in one sitting, I seriously was breathless captivated at times and shivered with fear at others. Anna pulled me along her journey and her heart held me hostage. To go through what she does and be an angel of light even in the dark me me love her all the more.

The men in this book are the perfect mix of what you would expect with a dark drama, two faces to every man. One he shows in closed doors and the other he shows the world. Darkly delicious and dangerously devious, they fill you with fear and bring you to the edge of sanity. Then again, the devil never looked so good as these men, caretakers and harbingers of horrific erotic scenes...make you want to scream, as your thighs become wet from your arousal.

The author uses amazing details to enhance the pleasure and pain Anna deals with and, I for one, can't wait for book two! Bravo to the author!! I would recommend to anyone looking for a fresh dark erotic read with a 'hint' of romance.

Marissa’s story of Anna began with a dream about being kidnapped with Adam Savage from Mythbusters (Yes, really). Over the next year and a half, it morphed into the story you will be reading soon. She has several other stories in progress, one of which is based on her kidnapped dream.

When she’s not writing or editing, Marissa is taking care of two young boys, training to be an astronaut, running her household, wrestling with gorillas, playing around on Facebook, promoting whirled peas, and busting her tush for her accounting degree. She enjoys chocolate, air conditioning in the desert’s summer heat, really good strawberry margaritas, sleeping, and shopping
