From the first mentions of A-Train in the Baby Girl and UN series from Scott, I knew he was a man of honor. To have his story come together in his own book was nothing short of an amazing and profound. From the start you go back to the very beginning and learn all there is to know about Alec Jacobs. A Marine, A Son, A Brother, A Friend, and A Man who you want on your side...because above all, he believed that he was here to protect those he loved and his country. His story showed you just how much a Marine, or any serviceman for that matter, faced during war-time and the losses, injuries and fears of going home in a box, came with serving your country. Along the way you see Alec's courage time and time again and when you think he may be passed the point of no return...you realize that God made men like him for a reason, and it wasn't his time to take Alec from us. Some of the heartbreak from loosing his brothers-at-arms and then in his personal life, gives you an in depth glimpse into his heart, and of his mentality to love and grieve with his whole mind, body, heart and soul. The strongest feeling throughout his story is LOVE. Showing the Love of his wife, of his Marine brothers, and then of his MC Brothers. And when push comes to shove, that love spares those who have wronged him, even when he struggles to think otherwise to begin with.

You get to watch him grow and heal and love stronger than the first time around and offer forgiveness to those he felt wronged him. With a more in depth look into the characters of the UN Series, we see what A-Train went through during some of the same events that we gasped at and loved about him in the earlier books. Plus parts where we get a first hand look at what brought him to Texas and getting to know Ripp and Shane. When we see him with everyone at Sunday dinner...we see how much of an old-fashioned gentleman he truly is...He is sweet and loving and the bestest friend anyone could ask for. Watching him with Katie, you can't help but swoon at his gestures and his protective and gentle nature. And with Dek's son, you see a side of him as Uncle A-Train that just melts your heart. Healing happens when you let it, and for A-Train, his journey is ultimately of love and returning to 'normal' as best he can. His values will never change, his outlook is one of honor, and there is NOTHING I would have changed in this book. It's raw, intense, and completely perfectly depicted as only Mr. Hildreth can!

A-Train's story is one I will hold onto for years to come and cherish as one of high values and a true moral compass that doesn't waver.
